WINDOW FRAMES

Not all vinyl windows are the same. Windows consist of several different components that work together to make the window energy efficient and secure. A quality window always start with the frames.  Having a good structure is important cause the glass is very heavy. There are several things to look for in a quality window frame.

The second thing to look at is the glass and spacer technology. Low E is the #1 important thing any homeowner should focus on with the glass itself. Low E is a coating on the glass that provides the deflection of heat off the glass surface which keeps your home warmer in the winter and cooler during the summer. Be cautious, not all Low E coating are the same. Then you add Argon Gas and the window is even more efficient and quieter as well. See Video of Glass Performance Test.

A quality window starts with the foundation which is the frame. The walls of our frames are one of the thickest in the industry at .080".  The standard frames are between a .050"-.070". Eco Select's frame is made of composite vinyl. It has a combination of 10% petroleum base with resins that are stabilized with titanium dioxide to provide the uv protectant and give the frame some extra strength. With the multi chambering and TRUSS system in the frame, the strength is dramatically improved. Our multiple chambers will also create a very efficient “thermal break” which prevents the transfer of heat and cold through the frame.

The most important component in the frames formula is the addition of Titanium Dioxide, which acts as a super sun block to prevent harmful fading effects of Ultra Violet. This insures that the frames will maintain the same color year after year. Be careful though cause some window manufacturers take shortcuts and minimizes the use of titanium dioxide in their products and as a result we are seeing some products breakdown in only a few years. Have you ever bought a $10 lawn chair then left it outside in the sun? After no time at all the color is fading, you wipe it off and then you have the color on your hands. That is a direct result of not using enough Titanium Dioxide in the product. With Eco Windows you will never have to worry again. The windows are guaranteed never to fade or discolor.

Notice the sloped sill on the window. This window is unique in that way. It's the only window on the market designed to ensure that if any moisture gets in the frame it will all drain out. Most windows in the industry have a flat drain sill which leaves pooled water in the frame and can cause mold and mildew to develope.
